About Wilderness Training Academy

How can we guide you through your learning journey?

All of our training programs are created using our Six Principle philosophy of Personal Development, Nature Connection, Nature Conservation, Self-Sufficiency and Conscious & Aware. These Six Principles will benefit you as much as you are ready to invest in yourself. And you can also make your contribution to conservation as we donate part of the fee from every training program to support conservation efforts in the Chilcotin Ark! About Wilderness Training Academy

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

All of our training programs are a journey towards empowerment. Every course is a lesson in self-responsibility. If you seek to create change, then you must begin with yourself.

NATURE CONNECTION

When you connect to nature you also connect to yourself. The modern world has forgotten how deeply rooted we are to nature. We feel unfulfilled when we are disconnected from nature. Nature is our greatest teacher helping us live more consciously. It increases our awareness and spiritual connection.

CONSERVATION AND STEWARDSHIP

We want to inspire people like you to become stewards of the land. Stewardship is a moral obligation to conserve the environment. This involves personal responsibility and all our actions – whether they are harmful or conserving. That’s why all of our training programs include a conservation and stewardship course. We want to educate you about the importance of conserving the environment.

IS THIS ECOTHERAPY?

WebMD and GoodTherapy define ecotherapy as activities involving nature. These activities can improve physical and mental health, overall mood and even life satisfaction.

Ecotherapy stems from the belief that people have a deep connection with nature, whether they know it or not. Therefore, living in harmony with the environment can be extremely beneficial.

Although we are not licensed ecotherapists, our training programs include accepted ecotherapy activities and techniques, including:

OPERATIONAL PARTNERS

We work with Chilcotin Holidays and the Chilcotin Ark Institute. We are also part of the Trails to Empowerment community. The content for our training programs is created in collaboration with our partners.

TRAILS TO EMPOWERMENT

We are part of the Trails to Empowerment community. They are a supportive community, striving to become their best selves in a wilderness environment. They share their philosophy and inspire you with stories, videos and podcasts about community members’ transformational journeys.

WILDERNESS TRAILS

Wilderness Trails facilitates your connection with nature, stewardship of the wilderness and personal empowerment. They do this through wilderness experience trips including horse trips, training programs, hiking, fishing and wildlife viewing.

Wilderness Trails has contributed to much of the training program content.
